Onstar Navigation

Everyone has gotten lost at least once in their lives. Perhaps you thought you knew your way around the block, but it turns out you forgot or underestimated the complexity of the directions. It happens to the best of us.
So what can you do in such a situation?
The answer lies in OnStar navigation. No matter where you are, all you have to do is click on the blue OnStar button, and you can get back on track with the guidance of expert advisors to lead you where you want to go.
How To Use Onstar Navigation?
- Enter the name of a destination
- You can even choose a place from the points near you, such as restaurants, shops, and other tourist destinations.
- Once you do this, you’ll get directions for every turn you need to make to get to your destination.
- Press the blue OnStar button, and you’ll be on the right path to your destination.
You can also use the voice command feature to cancel any directions or repeat them as required. If you find more than one route to the destination, you can save the one you prefer to take.
If you have a mobile application for directions, you can also use that by subscribing to Premium Access Plan 6 or Remote Access Plan 5. This will send all the directions to your in-dash navigation system.
Onstar Roadside Assistance
In the unfortunate case of getting stranded in the middle of the road, you can rely on OnStar roadside assistance to get you out safely. Once you request assistance, the OnStar Advisor will aid you in the process of contacting the local services nearest to your location for help.
Roadside Assistance can help you manage a range of different issues, such as:
- Towing your vehicle: If your car has broken down, you can request the service to help get you a towing truck and bring your car safely to the nearest gas station.
- Getting a flat tire: You can request assistance to change or repair your flat tire.
- Car battery: If your car’s battery malfunctions or fails, you can request services that can help jumpstart your vehicle or even replace your battery if you wish.
- Emergency fuel: If you run out of fuel in the middle of the road, roadside assistance will help you get emergency fuel delivered to your location.
- Routing services: If you find yourself lost in the middle of the road, you can always call for help and request directions to your destination.
There are 4 different ways to use the Roadside Assistance feature of Onstar:
- Using the blue Onstar button: Use the OnStar button to connect to an advisor, and they will guide you through the process of lending you the help you need.
- Infotainment System: If you have subscribed to the Connected Services plan, you can ask for help through your vehicle’s dashboard screen or the vehicle mobile app
- OnStar Guardian app: Another way you can avail of the Roadside Assistance feature is via the OnStar Guardian mobile application.
- Vehicle Mobile App: You can also use your mobile vehicle apps like myChevrolet, and myBuick to request Roadside Assistance.
Onstar Hands-Free Calling
As the name suggests, the OnStar Hands-Free Calling allows customers to make calls without holding the phone; thereby reducing the risk of accidents. However, the OnStar Hands-Free Calling has been discontinued by the company as of February 2022 and replaced with a Bluetooth pairing feature.
